December 29, 2007

What if everyone in New Jersey read and talked about the same book at the same time? One Book New Jersey is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association in cooperation with the New Jersey State Library to get people of all ages involved in reading and talking about great books. The adult selection for 2008 is The Plot Against America by bestseller Philip Roth, an alternative history novel in which Charles Lindberg is elected President of the United States in the 1940 election, and is told from the semi-autobiographical perspective of seven-year-old Philip growing up in the predominantly Jewish Weequahic section of Newark, New Jersey. Readers of all ages can get involved with titles chosen especially for teens and kids. Programs will take place in libraries throughout the year. Contact your local library to find out more.
